capturing moments | creating memories
Eash senior session starts out with a question: what makes you, you? Is there a certain place that holds sentimental value to you? A sport or activity that you’ve identified with for years? A loving pet who you just can’t leave out? These details are what make you stand out and are perfect building blocks to planning a senior session that is as unique as you are.
Frequently Asked Questions:
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY SENIOR PHOTO SESSION?
I recommend bringing 2-4 outfits depending on the length of your session. Most outfits can be separated into 3 different categories: timeless, classy and fun. To get the most variety out of your photos try to bring outfits from at least two categories. For ladies that might look like a pair of dark jeans a simple blouse (timeless), a stunning dress (classy), and a floral romper (fun). For guys that might look like a sweater paired with dark jeans (timeless), a button up shirt with a blazer and slacks (classy), and a favorite tee shirt with shorts (fun).
DO YOU HAVE A STYLIST THAT YOU CAN RECOMMEND FOR HAIR AND MAKEUP?
Absolutely! I refer clients to a stylist who works on-location, let me know if you’re interested and I can give you her information. Not everyone wants their hair and makeup done for their senior session and my advice is – whatever floats your boat! Your senior session is all about you so do whatever you are comfortable with. If you do opt to have your hair and makeup done just let me know so we can schedule the time of your session accordingly.
WHAT TIME OF DAY IS BEST FOR SENIOR PORTRAITS?
As the sun gets higher in the sky lighting becomes harsher, casting shadows that can be unflattering. To avoid this I prefer to start sessions a few hours before the sun goes down which is when the light is optimal. If the evening is not an option for you I would recommend scheduling sometime in the early morning instead.
WHAT TIME OF YEAR SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SENIOR PORTRAIT SESSION?
Most of the seniors I work with schedule their session the summer before their senior year begins, but that doesn’t mean you have to! If fall is your favorite season you can absolutely wait until the leaves change color, the same goes for winter and spring! The only thing to keep in mind is the yearbook deadline for submitting senior portraits. Some yearbook committees are happy to extend the deadline to students if they know ahead of time while others aren’t as flexible. If you’re thinking about schedule your session during an “off” season, talk with your yearbook committee to see what their requirements are.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME TO GET MY PHOTOS?
Two weeks following your session I will mail out a custom USB drive will all of your final images. During the two weeks that it takes for me to edit your images I will be posting sneak peeks on social media!
DO YOU SELL PRINTS & OTHER PHOTO PRODUCTS?
I sure do! If you’re interested in purchasing prints or other photo products such as wall art, photo albums, grad party invites and more just let me know and I can send you pricing. I use a professional printing lab that works exclusively with photographers allowing me to deliver products with exceptional quality.
