Audrey | Pittsburgh Senior Session

Audrey’s senior session was the perfect mix of polished and edgy. She and her mom were so open to ideas which made the entire process from planning to shooting such fun!

Senior portrait sessions can sometimes be like a surprise party… If I’ve been planning the session with the parent, I have an *idea* of who the senior is but I never see the full picture (see what I did there?) until I get to meet them in person. It’s an exciting part of my job that keeps my on my toes!
Mellon Park is one of my favorite spots for photos in Pittsburgh. There are a ton of nooks and crannies and they all have so much character. Plus, the light there is phenomenal! All that the say, I was stoked about Abby’s senior session. And then I actually met Abby…

This photo has been sitting in my head for a while, I sketched out the idea last year and forgot about it until recently. Originally, it represented the feeling of being on the outside looking in, not quite fitting. Given current events and the Stay at Home order in effect, this photo feels a bit sarcastic now. I’m so thankful for the ways God has provided during these strange times but I’m also ready to leave the house and not look back.
This little boy loves his cake. Can you tell? More importantly, can you blame him? I think we were all a little shocked to see the amount of cake Mordecai devoured… but man did he look cute doing it!! We ended Mordecia’s one-year session on a squeaky clean note with a bubble bath – he certainly needed it after all the blue icing.
This Pine Richland senior decided to beat the heat and waited until the fall to get her senior portraits taken! While many seniors get their senior photos taken during the summer time, taking photos during the fall, winter or spring is a fun option too!
